A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) is a simple and affordable way to go solar with no upfront cost. Instead of buying or financing your system, you agree to purchase the electricity it produces at a set price per kilowatt-hour (kWh). The system is installed on your home, but you do not own it; the provider does. In return, you get predictable electricity at a rate that is lower than your utility’s, and the provider takes responsibility for installation, monitoring, and maintenance.
In other words, a PPA lets you lock in lower energy costs without the cost or responsibility of owning solar equipment.

No. The system is owned by LightReach, and Exact Solar will service it for the term of your agreement. You simply pay for the electricity it produces. All service, monitoring, and equipment replacements covered by the agreement are handled for you.
You pay nothing until 30 days after your system is fully installed and receives Permission to Operate (PTO) from your utility.
With Exact Solar’s PPA, offered in partnership with LightReach, your solar rate will be locked in for 25 years. However, buyout and transfer options are available in the instance that you would prefer to own your system or sell your home.
The PPA can be transferred to the new homeowner. Because it provides a locked-in, below-market electricity rate, it actually makes your home more appealing to buyers. There is no lien or mortgage tied to your property. The agreement is simply connected to the solar system itself.
After five years, you’ll have the option to purchase the system. At the end of your term, you can:
Your system is guaranteed to produce at least 90% of the amount stated in your contract. LightReach reviews production every three years. If the system underproduces, you’ll automatically receive bill credits to make up the difference. You can also check performance anytime through the monitoring app, and if underproduction is verified earlier, credits can be applied sooner.
All monitoring, performance reviews, and covered maintenance are included. Every major component is warrantied for 25
years, so you don’t have to worry about repair or replacement costs.
If a major event such as a hurricane damages your system, LightReach covers replacement of panels at no cost to you. The only exception is that the production guarantee does not apply during the downtime caused by such an event.
Yes. Storage can be added into your project, and LightReach is also preparing a separate battery option in the near future.
No hard credit pull is required. Only a soft check is needed to qualify, which does not affect your credit score. The PPA is also not reported as debt on your credit report.
